In the last two decades, we have witnessed an exponential growth in the adoption of digital technologies in business. Currently, Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is aiding massive transformation in almost all business functions and processes. These technologies are enabling businesses to come closer to the customer than ever before, to the extent that concerns/complaints regarding violations of customers' privacy are becoming increasingly frequent. All this has created both new opportunities and challenges for market researchers. The art of sampling enables the collection of scientifically valid information that aids informed decision making in organizations. Statisticians have over the years created a body of knowledge of how such information may be collected so that valid generalizations can be done to the entire study group. While the broad learnings from this body of knowledge remain relevant for the digital world new innovations have been proposed for dealing with the unique challenges faced by the digital revolution.
